First step of PRD 0005. Three new files for the mitmproxy-in-front-of-pipelock topology — wiring into the bottle launch comes in the next commit. - claude_bottle/mitmproxy/__init__.py: abstract MitmproxyProxy base + MitmproxyProxyPlan. Mirrors the PipelockProxy shape (prepare / start / stop) and adds extract_ca_cert for the CA cert hand-off into the agent. - claude_bottle/mitmproxy/addon.py: the vendored Python addon mitmproxy loads inside the sidecar. Forwards each decrypted request to pipelock as a plain HTTP forward-proxy call, inspects the response, and short-circuits the flow with 403 on a pipelock block (status=403 + body starts with `blocked: `, pinned empirically against pipelock 2.3.0 in the impl spike). Self-contained — no claude_bottle imports — so it loads in a sidecar that doesn't have claude_bottle on its path. - claude_bottle/backend/docker/mitmproxy.py: DockerMitmproxyProxy with create / cp / network connect / start lifecycle. Pinned to mitmproxy/mitmproxy@sha256:00b77b5d… (multi-arch manifest for v12.2.3). - tests/unit/test_mitmproxy_verdict.py: pins the verdict fingerprint so a pipelock-side body shape change breaks loudly. Tests
Plain-Python test suite using stdlib unittest. No external
dependencies. Unit tests run anywhere Python 3 is present; integration
tests need Docker and skip cleanly otherwise.

Discovery is invoked with -t . (top-level dir = repo root) so the
claude_bottle package on sys.path resolves correctly.
What the integration tests cover
test_pipelock_sidecar_smoke.py— drivesDockerPipelockProxy.prepare.start(the production code path) against a real Docker daemon and probes the sidecar's/healthfrom an in-network curl container.
test_dry_run_plan.py—cli.py start --dry-run --format=jsonemits a structured plan that contains the resolved egress allowlist and the bottle's runtime, and creates zero Docker resources.test_orphan_cleanup.py—network_removeandPipelockProxy.stopare idempotent against missing resources, so the EXIT trap can call them unconditionally.
Canaries
tests/canaries/ holds upstream-regression checks (e.g. the pinned
pipelock digest's binary still runs). These are gated on
CLAUDE_BOTTLE_RUN_CANARIES=1 and not part of the per-push suite.
They're invoked by the scheduled canaries workflow.

What's NOT covered
claude_bottle/ssh.pyend-to-end (would need a fake SSH host inside the container).- A live SSH-through-pipelock tunnel against a real Tailscale-style IP.
